Overview
For decades, most cosmology papers have opened with praise for ΛCDM—the “concordance model”, known for its precision, simplicity, and success in fitting a broad range of observations—comprising a cosmological constant dark energy and cold dark matter. This reputation is well-earned, based on extensive supporting evidence.
Yet, as we enter the era of precision cosmology with increasingly high-quality data—from DESI BAO measurements to supernovae and the CMB—the limits of ΛCDM are being tested. New results hint at possible complexities, such as evolving dark energy or unidentified systematics, and pressing questions remain, such as consistency between observations.
This workshop will focus primarily on exploring the current status and future of ΛCDM, highlighting both theoretical and observational challenges, and insights from the latest data, as well as the direction the field may take. It aims to foster the exchange of ideas and methods through presentations, with ample time for discussion.
